CKI set to increase Shenyang ventures

Cheung Kong Infrastructure (CKI) has agreed to invest 200 million yuan (about HK$185.6 million) in a water plant in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, bringing its investment in the city to more than two billion yuan.

CKI said it would take a 50 per cent stake in the Shenyang Shifosi plant, to be completed in two phases - phase one, with a capacity of 200,000 tonnes a day is operational.

Total capacity will be boosted to 400,000 tonnes with the second phase, scheduled for completion in about two years.

CKI said total investment in the Shenyang Shifosi plant was estimated at 400 million yuan, half coming from CKI.

The joint venture will last for 20 years. The Shenyang plant would increase CKI's water processing capacity in Liaoning to 770,000 tonnes a day, covering both Fushun and Shenyang cities.
