Long wait

It is getting increasingly difficult for me to board a KMB No 34 bus at the stop at Tai Wo Hau, situated in the middle of the route which goes from Tsuen Wan to Kwai Shing Circuit.

The No 34 bus has a frequency of 15 to 20 minutes and the demand for this bus is very large.

A few weeks ago, all the double-decker buses on this route, were switched to single-decker, air-conditioned vehicles. This meant a sharp reduction in passenger capacity and this has meant that many passengers cannot get on. The problem is particularly acute during rush hours.

To make matters worse, each No 34 bus has only one door and passengers find it difficult to use the same door to enter and exit at the same time.

Because of this, the waiting time for passengers is longer than it used to be and it also takes more time to board and alight from the bus.

I hope that the Kowloon Motor Bus Company will look into this matter and make the necessary improvements.
