ON the night of February 25, I boarded a train in KCR Kowloon Tong Station to the University Station, a journey which normally takes about 13 minutes. Instead, I was detained in the Tai Wai Station for eight minutes, and another two minutes between Tai Wai and Sha Tin. It was announced that the next platform was occupied. This delay caused me to miss the school bus, and it has occurred on other occasions.
Is this an efficient service from a company which charges me $5.30 (common stored value ticket) for the journey? Apart from a customer hotline, market research and station renovations, I think the passengers need more than that - reliability.
