Control is vital for Leyshan

FORMER Hong Kong riding star Peter Leyshan can seal the Macau trainers' title at the first time of asking by taking tonight's fourth event with the progressive Vital Control.

Leyshan has made a huge impression in his first season with a trainer's licence and has clearly learned much from such racing legends as his father-in-law, George Moore, and multiple Sydney champion trainer Tommy Smith.

Leyshan rode for both these giants of the turf and not only took a three-strong lead into this weekend's closing double-header meeting but also an impressive strike rate.

Vital Control went firmly into the notebook on a couple of occasions before obliging last time out in Class Five. He has more than enough scope to handle the move back into Class Four with the first-time-out winner Perfect Planet and Bullet Train, the mount of John 'The Magic Man' Didham, looking the main dangers.

Didham has been a model of consistency all season and does the honours on the English filly, Seaside, who carries the colours of yours truly in the night's sixth event.

Seaside is considered a win and place chance.

Reinforced is considered the night's best bet but you'll have to wait until the last race to support him.
