Battle against pollution

A blueprint to reduce pollution in Chile's capital, Santiago, aims to brighten environmental prospects for the 5.5 million residents - 39 per cent of the country's population.

The plan includes more than 260 measures such as the introduction of catalytic converters for taxis.

It will cost US$60 million annually for the next 15 years.
