Andy Ho's article ('Vote or stay home; you can make your point', South China Morning Post, January 27) made the important observation that voters have a choice of voting or boycotting to make their point.
There is a third possibility; politicians of the democratic camp should boycott the election.
Firstly, it would send a powerful message to the people of Hong Kong and the international community that this is not a free and fair election. Secondly, the election arrangements for this legislative council were passed by the illegitimate provisional legislature.
Those opposed to this provisional legislature should not participate in such a voting farce.
