Workers no longer required to wear gloves

Workers slaughtering chickens will no longer be required to wear gloves, after complaints of inconvenience, the Health and Welfare Bureau says.

The U-turn followed careful consideration, bureau chief Katherine Fok Lo Shiu-ching told members of the Provisional Legislative Council.

But the requirement to wear protective clothing would be enforced later, she said.
