If you enjoy swimming and running, then the annual aquathon races are for you.
This year's first event in the aquathon series is the Fila Hong Kong Youth Championships, which kick off at the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) on June 27.
The aquathon is a good introduction to multi-sport competitions. Triathons, which incorporate cycling as well, are the next step up.
The championships are open to those aged nine to 19. And teams of up to six people can compete for their school or tertiary institute.
The swimming segment will be held at the HKSI's 25-metre pool and the running section of the event will take on the track outside. Distances range from a 50-m swim and 400-m run to a 500-m swim and three-kilometre run.
Three other races - on July 5 and 26 and August 23 - are planned as part of the summer aquathon series. The swimming section of these races will be done in the sea, at Repulse Bay, Clear Water Bay and on Cheung Sha Beach on Lantau Island.
Distances will vary, depending on the venue.
However, youths and novices will only be expected to complete half the distances.
