Concerted action on drugs

Canto-pop stars joined the chorus of voices warning youngsters against drug abuse.

Kelly Chen, Eason Chan and Miriam Yeung sang their hearts out at a concert which aimed to spread the anti-drugs message.

Organised by the Narcotics Division and Commercial Radio, the concert raised the roof of the New Century Plaza in Mongkok.

The day of fun included talks by experts, an exhibition and quiz games to involve teenagers in the anti-drug drive.

They were also warned that experimenting with soft drugs often led to hard drug abuse.

Cathy Chu Man-ling, Principal Assistant Secretary for Security (Narcotics) praised three outstanding volunteers for their work in anti-drug campaigns last year.

Justein Wong Chun, chairman of the Action Committee Against Narcotics Sub-Committee on Preventive Education and Publicity; and Pearl Wong Po-chu, director of External Affairs at Commercial Radio, were among those present at the event.
