I refer to the letter from Jean Chan, for the Commissioner of Police (South China Morning Post, October 22) on the issue of serial dog poisonings headlined, 'Police stepping up patrols'.
Since May, my husband and I have found and photographed the (at times) meticulously placed, poisoned chicken - three times on Bowen Road and twice on Shiu Fai Terrace.
Each time we have contacted the police and although they have an officer handling the case, it is obvious that adequate resources have not been assigned. I understand it is difficult to catch this poisoner, but I have a hard time believing that one sick and crazy middle-aged to older man can outwit the entire Hong Kong police force for nine years.
Isn't it time for some creative action so that more dogs do not needlessly die? MICHELLE BOLTZ Mid-Levels
