Many teenagers have part-time jobs because they do not have enough money to buy CDs, TV games and other luxury items.
But they do not consider the advantages and disadvantages. The benefits are that we can gain experience from doing part-time jobs, improve our character and become more mature. We can also learn how to get along with others.
However, earning money through part-time work can lead to many distractions. There is a danger we may neglect our studies and as a result we will do poorly in the exams. Moreover, students may meet some bad people who could lead them astray.
If students are prepared to do part-time jobs and wish to maintain academic standards, they must be aware of the problems. We should strike a balance between study and jobs.
