I was glad to see that an Internet service was available in both the Regional Council and Urban Council public libraries.
I think this convenient service will help the general public have access to the Net.
However, there is one problem - the computers used are out of date and so are too slow for the purposes of surfing the Net.
For example, it took me at least 1.5 minutes to reach the home page after double-clicking the relevant icon. I am sure other users of the system have the same problem and like me, find it annoying.
The Government has highlighted the importance of the general application of information technology.
I hope whichever government department is going to be responsible for the libraries after the councils are disbanded will take note of this problem.
