Guide gets update

A new version of HK Dining Guide, a free on-line restaurant directory created by Automated Systems and Telecom Directories, is to be released next month.

The guide, which will offer accelerated search performance, will enable customers to make on-line reservations at restaurants, according to Peter Kuo, managing director and deputy chairman of Automated Systems.

Mr Kuo said the on-line catalogue business had great potential and the framework developed for the guide could be transformed to other applications, such as company directories and job-seeking portals.

'Once the solution created for this project has been developed, it can be customised to support other portal applications,' he said.

Mr Kuo said he expected to see a threefold to fourfold increase in the company's on-line catalogue business next year.
