After she returned from a trip to Europe last year, Judy Hong noticed how much weight she had put on.
'I just love Italian food and normally I would over-indulge when in Italy,' she says. 'But last year I realised it was much harder to lose all that weight and that my metabolism had slowed down.' Sit-ups were out of the question as she has a bad back, so Judy bought a treadmill and started exercising regularly every morning.
But little did she know that was only the start. Having been in the fashion business for 20 years, Judy was familiar with designer labels and jewellery.
Now she also sells health products ranging from sesame paste from Japan to heatable herbal pillows that soothe tired muscles and joints.
'It was actually about three to four years ago that I became more concerned about my health. People used to call me 'wonder woman' because of my indefatigable energy. I used to be able to work like a dynamo and never needed to rest.' But age must have crept on her about three years ago and she started to feel less energetic. So Judy went on a quest to find out all the things she needed to do to feel good again.
On business travels abroad she sought out health spas and alternative treatment and therapy to restore her health. But it was only recently that she decided to turn it into a business.
'I've noticed that people's lifestyles have changed. People are becoming more health-conscious.' As well as her daily exercise, Judy also practises qigong and takes Chinese herbal medicine regularly.
