PLANS READY FOR TAKE OFF

United Airlines: Would potentially launch services from Hong Kong to Sydney, Melbourne, Bangkok, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Bombay, Madras, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh City, perhaps Beijing, Shanghai and other cities in the mainland. * Northwest Airlines: Would potentially add to frequency of passenger and cargo services to destinations in Japan.

Federal Express: Would use SAR as second hub in Asia, and divert some traffic from its present hub at Subic Bay.

UPS: Would use Hong Kong as Asian hub to connect to its European hub at Cologne, with daily flights via India and the Middle East. Would also potentially launch services to Singapore, Japan and South Korea.

Delta Airlines: Seeking permission to code-share with Air France, which would bring more US traffic.

Some of these would be code-shares with other airlines.
