Next time you hear someone criticising our Chief Executive, simply ask that person what he would have done if he were Tung Chee-hwa and who he thinks could have done a better job for Hong Kong in this difficult period.
We need more people like A. E. Gazeley (letter headlined, 'SAR and Tung have done remarkably well since 1997', South China Morning Post, August 5) and Elsie Tu to remind us every so often that most of us would only insist on the 'two systems', but easily overlook the 'one country' part which our Chief Executive has so painstakingly upheld on our behalf.
I, for one, would like to say a big 'thank you', from the bottom of my heart, to Mr Tung for what he has done for all of us in Hong Kong.
