THE number of foreign players allowed to play in the territory will remain at five per club.
The senior sides last night unanimously voted that it was in the best interests of the game that five be the limit. There had been suggestions to make it six.
Nine clubs were represented at last night's senior clubs' meeting chaired by HKFA chairman Victor Hui. Only financially-troubled Michelotti were absent.
The senior clubs also recommended that the points system used in the First Division remain unchanged with three points for a win and one for a draw.
The clubs also recommended that ex-pat players be considered as locals if they have the right of abode in Hongkong.
Previously players from China had to be resident for three years and overseas players seven years before being considered local.
