'Wear them, use them, make them your own' is the motto of clothing and accessories designers Gerrit Uittenbogaard and Natasja Martens. The Dutch duo, who started working together two years ago under the label G+N, share a forward-thinking philosophy. Their conceptual line of ready-to-wear gear, which has featured such interesting appendages as synthetic hands, wooden blocks and metal spirals, calls into question the shape of the body while their irreverent accessories keep ensembles from becoming too serious. Take, for instance, the 'wrist-pin cushion', which features hand-painted pins, pencils and keychains in limited edition fabrics including gingham, denim and satin. It's all available from their website (www.fashionfugitive.com ), which also features links and fashion shoots.

Fans of French eyewear designer Alain Mikli will love his latest innovation, the Dragonfly. Designed in collaboration with Issey Miyake, the titanium, acetate and steel frames unfold from their 'cocoon' case into wearable works of art and cost from $4,000 to $5,000 a pair, with six shapes and eight colours to choose from. Buy them from Eye'n'I (1 Lan Fong Road, Causeway Bay), Canaan Optical Centre (18 Stanley Street, Central) and Puyi Optical (shop G8, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Tsim Sha Tsui).
Vidal Sassoon's editorial director Peter Gray was in town to launch the line's new Edge Collection last week. Developed by Gray with Eugene Souleiman, one of the world's top hairstylists and a regular contributor to Vogue, The Face and i-D, the line is sleeker and more sophisticated than Sassoon's regular range. Strong on styling and finishing products, it includes specially-developed mousses, sprays, clays, balms, gels and waxes which give long-lasting hold to hair without weighing it down. Then there's Colour-Secure hair wash and replenishing creme - perfect for colour-treated tresses - and our favourite, Polishing Drops, which ensures a high-gloss shine. (tel: 2837-4745).
