Stressful adverts

Kowloon Motor Bus Company justifies its horrible ad shows by appealing to 'the majority of passengers', but it misses the point.

The point is that a substantial minority dislike or even loathe these noisy adverts, finding them intrusive and stressful. Therefore, the bus companies should not impose them on us. It is possible that a majority of people also like tabloid newspapers and fast food. Fine, we are all free to choose. Transport is different. Often we are not free to choose our means of transport, unless we pay several times more for a taxi.

I agree with what Cyd Ho said in her letter (South China Morning Post, August 8). On double-deckers, there should be one deck with adverts and one without. I propose that the upper deck be ad-free. Then all passengers should be happy and the bus companies too will gain.
