Fun and games during Sai Kung trip

Second formers from Shatin Tsung Tsin Secondary School enjoyed a day trip to Lady MacLehose Holiday Village in Sai Kung.

I was annoyed on the bus, but not because of the noise. It was the two classmates sitting behind me who kept pulling my hair and opening the window beside me. The wind messed up my hair and I had to keep taking my mirror out and combing it. But although they did these naughty things, we all burst out laughing in the end.

As we set off later than the others, we were the last to arrive. Some of us thought that we would be just like those presidents or prime ministers when we entered the grounds - with our classmates standing up, bowing or saluting. But none of this happened.

Once the superintendent of the holiday village finished giving us an introduction to the centre, we had time to ourselves. Our class played a fun game at the roller-skating arena, but I am not sure what it was called. It was like playing cat and mouse.

We also tried archery. First the instructor taught us how to hold the bow and shoot an arrow, and then we had a go. There were many people waiting. Fortunately we all had a turn before lunch. I tried to shoot the bull's-eye, but I could not even hit the target. It was a shame because I had done archery before, but I had totally lost my touch.

We had lunch afterwards. The food was not bad.

After lunch, we had a go at snooker; it was a fun, amusing time. At first, none of us knew exactly how to play. All we knew was that we needed to hit the white ball with the cue to knock the other coloured balls into the pockets on the billiard table. I did not play. I took photos of my friends instead, so I got to see some funny sights.

We then headed back to school. We got to leave first this time, but the others were still faster than us. I wondered if their buses had wings or a super-turbo engine that made them go so fast.
