Catalogue of landfill

I was amazed last week to see pallets stacked with thousands of wrapped Ikea catalogues at each MTR entry I passed. Each pallet was accompanied by a gang of youngsters, eagerly thrusting a copy into the hands of each passer-by. Perhaps this is simply a means to fill our landfills with Swedish trees and plastic?
