Mainlanders prefer TV to sex, survey finds

Chinese people were found to be the most faithful to their partners in a worldwide study that showed that 70 per cent of mainland people have had just one sexual partner.

The survey, sponsored by condom manufacturer Durex, revealed that each Chinese has sex an average of 72 times a year, compared to an average of 124 times for Americans, who had the most frequent sex. Only five per cent of Chinese respondents said sex was their favourite leisure activity, while 23 per cent said they preferred watching television. In contrast, 38 per cent of Italians and 32 per cent of Australians said sex was their preferred leisure activity. About one-third of mainland respondents said they did not receive sex education at school and 13 per cent received their knowledge about sex from their doctors or other professionals.
