SLOGAN PAINTED ON US CONSULATE

A slogan saying 'life is priceless' was painted on a wall outside the US Consulate in Central.

Police discovered the seven-metre-long slogan on the wall surrounding the consulate on Lower Albert Road before 8am.

A peace symbol had been painted next to the slogan, a police spokeswoman said. She said graffiti was a criminal offence which carried a maximum penalty of 10 years' jail.

Staff of the US Consulate were seen covering up the slogan with black plastic, while security has been visibly stepped up around the premises.
