Taiwan's right?

I refer to 'Independent Lantau?' (September 3).

I agree that it is inappropriate to use Lantau Island as an example for Taiwan independence - the effect of Taiwan independence will be worse.

If Lantau becomes independent, it will affect the stability of Hong Kong. Taiwan becoming independent will impact the stability of China and even the world. Foreign states will regard this as a golden opportunity to set up military bases against the mainland, affecting the strength of our nation.

Besides, I do not agree that Taiwan has the right to ask for independence. It is a misconception that a request for independence is a matter of democracy. If everyone seeks independence for their home region, imagine the impact on the world.
