Celebrated adventurers take a peek at the soul of the sea

A new documentary reveals the beauty of the ocean and takes an in-depth look at endangered coral reefs in the Pacific Ocean.

Coral Reef Adventure, lasting 46 minutes, features the work of celebrated underwater in ematographers Howard and Michelle Hall.

It captures the magic of a 20,000-year-old reef and previous unknown fish species 100 metres below the surface of the sea. Viewers will be taken to Australia's Great Barrier Reef and the majestic islands of Tahiti to see some of the world's largest, most beautiful, yet endangered coral reefs.

A coral reef, also called the 'soul of the sea', is the largest living structure on Earth. Reefs, along with other marine organisms, sustain life in the ocean.

The film also reveals how reefs are threatened by over-fishing and logging.

Tickets are available at the Space Museum box-office and Urbtix outlets for $24 and $32 (half-price for full-time students, senior citizens and the disabled).

Coral Reef Adventure is being screened at the Space Museum daily except Tuesdays until July 31.
