University of Science and Technology student Cheng Chok Kwong was among 200 students from the eight publicly-funded institutions competing in the 5th Intervarsity Dance Competition that featured performances in jazz, hip-hop, funk, house and modern styles. Polytechnic University emerged the champion and also won the Best Choreographer award in the event organised by UniDancity, a non-profit organisation founded in 2000 by a group of dance lovers to promote dance culture among university graduates, students and the public. City and Baptist universities came second and third. The CityU team also won the award for The Favourite Dance Piece in the contest, held in front of a packed audience at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre last week.
