AFTER reading the article ''Oxford beckons for top students'' (South China Morning Post, August 20), it prompts a question: isn't it time that the Hong Kong education authorities tried to improve teaching methods used in schools here? It seems as though top-grade students think along the same lines. They feel education here is rather regimented, and lacks diversity and freedom. Consequently, they choose an education abroad.
I feel the same way. I have tasted both education here and abroad and must admit I have enjoyed my school years overseas. With an increasing number of students opting to go abroad, this may pose a long-term problem for the authorities.
