'Quinella king' is the ideal banker

He may not win too often but the 'quinella king' of Hong Kong, King Of Fish, looks the ideal banker selection in the middle pin of the Triple Trio tomorrow night at Happy Valley.

The consistent galloper never seems to run a bad race over the Valley mile, having finished in the runner-up slot no less than 10 times from 20 starts, including the last five outings he has competed over the course and distance.

Gate 11 wouldn't be a problem for King Of Fish, who is likely to press forward once again.

There looks to be plenty of pace in this event, which should ensure a truly run race, and that should suit the likes of Strong Sun. He was an impressive winner over the course and distance back in November and he is on course to win again from gate two.

Toy Quest is yet to win, but comes into this event competitively weighted and will definitely be suited by the fast tempo.

Fighting Mascot would have hit the frame on his last start if not for being checked in the concluding stages. He can fill a minor place along with Winning Sunshine, who will relish the drop back in trip.

The logical selection for banker in the opening leg is Rainbow Diamond, who has been knocking on the door for a win in recent weeks.

He has hit the frame on his last four starts, three of which have come over the Valley mile and given he remains in the same grade, he should prove competitive once again.

Red Baron had excuses when beaten over the Valley mile on his latest outing. This time he has a good gate to produce his best and should be able to hit the frame.

Dragon Stride displayed marginal improvement when competing over the course and distance on his last start, and a similar effort should see him go close again.

Rising Win finished a distant second to Present Treasure over 1,650 metres last time, and now that he has returned to form is one to consider for the minors.

Purple Gold comes into this event competitively weighted, while in-form Just Too Good also can hit the frame.

The best option for banker in the final event is last-start winner Healthy Wealthy.

He won with a touch to spare over 1,800m last week and from gate two, should enjoy the run of the race under Seb Sanders.

Liberal's Choice finished third to him after having a tough run when wide without cover and based on his recent form, he is one to add to the shortlist.

The recent form of Floral Dynamite has been exceptional. He is striking easier opposition and must be given strong claims of figuring in the finish.

Bumper Bumper is dangerously weighted and merits consideration, while Bull's Eye has a good record over the course and distance and must be given due respect.

Master Ying left the impression he will relish the step up to a mile following a game second over 1,200m at the city course last week. He is in good form at the moment and looks a solid chance to go one better in the third event.

Favourite Return displayed marked improvement on his latest outing and based on that effort must be added to the shortlist.

Olive Or Twist should prove competitive over his favoured course and distance, while Right Choice will relish the step up to a mile and must be kept safe.
