Ricky Yiu Poon-fie's Solar Power put up a scintillating performance to win the only barrier trial held at Sha Tin on Friday.
The son of Bahhare should be noted down as one to keep safe when he next appears as he looks a highly competitive galloper.
It was a solid effort from Solar Power, especially considering the early sections of the trail when he managed to work home nicely for Anthony Delpech.
He was brought around the field in the final 300 metres and made a sustained run to the line under very little pressure.
There was some merit in the effort of the stablemate Rocket Win, who hit the line with plenty in reserve.
He was convincingly beaten on his local debut, but his work leading up to that outing had not been very impressive and now that he is starting to show some potential, looks worth keeping safe in the future.
In other trackwork, Francis Lui Kin-wai's Arrogance continues to make a positive impression in his work.
He galloped alongside Gianfanti, who competes in the first event today, and worked very well. He has come out of his trial on April 8 superbly. He has been freshened-up has clearly made all the difference.
Danny Shum Chap-shing has a nice prospect with last-start winner Flaming Lamborgini, who impressed in a gallop on Thursday with Chateau King Prawn.
Both horses have a bright future, but Flaming Lamborgini in particular has improved further since his recent success.
The pair clocked a final 400m in 22.6 seconds.
