First phase (August 18-19): Strategic discussions in Vladivostok, Russia

Second phase (August 20-22): Transport and deployment of troops on the Shandong Peninsula. Organisation of co-ordinated actions involving 14 ships, 50 Russian and Chinese aircraft, and the midair refuelling of Chinese Su-30 interceptors by a Russian tanker

Third phase (August 23): Securing air domination of the Bohai Sea. Anti-submarine operation. Launch of missiles by submarines, aircraft and navy ships. Interception of enemy planes and missiles

August 24: Bombers and fighter jets hit targets as Chinese and Russian troops stage assault on Shandong Peninsula

August 25: Drill over Weibei involving Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers and Tu-22M3 long-range bombers. Ten IL-76 transport planes drop Chinese and Russian paratroopers and vehicles in combat zone, accompanied by electronic-jamming planes and fighter jets. Sino-Russian force establishes isolation zone
