Reporting directly to the IT manager, the systems administrator will be involved in hardware and software installation as well as development.
'No day will be like another as we are building a multi-operating system IT infrastructure from scratch,' said Ian Burns, Shaw's IT manager.
'The successful candidate will need to liaise with vendors or suppliers to help identify the right solutions, maintain the existing infrastructure and help plan the transition to the final live environment,' he said.
Applicants should have a minimum of three years' experience in a Windows environment.
Exposure to other operating systems would be a distinct advantage, said the company.
Strong networking skills in a TCP/IP environment is required and experience working with multiple 10-gigabyte networks is preferred.
'The role will require someone who is adaptable to change, can think on their feet as new requests are received but can also recognise possible pitfalls and plan ahead,' Mr Burns said.
He added that ideally the candidate would possess industry recognised qualifications and be fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese.
'The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to be involved in and help develop one of the world's most advanced film production and digital post-production facilities,' Mr Burns said. 'It is rare to have the prospect of being involved in a project of this type and at such a critical stage.
'It will provide them with a challenging and rewarding role that will further develop their existing skills and provide them with the opportunity to develop additional ones.'
