St Teresa Secondary School hopes to produce all-round students who can improve the school's image, according to principal Teresa Wong.

Speaking at the school's 27th graduation ceremony, Ms Wong said: 'Raising academic standards, improving school-parent co-operation and boosting the image of the school are the main objectives this year.'

Ms Wong said the school adopted interactive teaching methods to help students gain maximum advantage from lessons.

Students' academic performance had improved after the implementation of enhancement and remedial programmes, she added.

Apart from academic success, the school also emphasises moral education, Ms Wong said.

She was happy that there

had been increasing parent participation in school activities, including the English day camp and mathematics competition.

Ms Wong also praised the students for their excellent performance in extra-curricular activities.

Reverend Peter Choy,

president of Holy Spirit Seminary College, said academic success was not the sole aim of education. Students should be able to discover their 'real selves', Reverend Choi said.

He reminded the graduates to thank their parents and teachers who guided them along the correct path and shared their ups and downs with them.

In his welcoming speech, school supervisor Reverend Francis Lau said young people should contribute to society after graduation.

It is their duty to make use of what they have learned in school to help the community, he said.

The ceremony ended with a play which won six prizes in the territory-wide inter-school drama competition.
