ASIA-PACIFIC Breweries, the maker of Tiger and Anchor beers, is negotiating with a Vietnamese state-run company to open a US$100 million brewery near Hanoi, according to the Singapore company's president, Koh Poh Tiong.
An agreement to proceed with the brewery in the Vietnamese capital is expected within three months.
Asia-Pacific expects to double its investment in Southeast Asia to S$1 billion (about HK$4.8 billion) within three years.
The company already owns 60 per cent of a brewery near Ho Chi Minh City.
Former Singapore prime minister Lee Kuan Yew officially opened the facility on Friday.
