HONG KONG ship owners were prominent among the Lloyd's Register list of companies receiving newbuildings in the third quarter of this year.

Figures published by the register show the largest ship completed during the quarter was the 290,619 deadweight tonne (dwt) oil tanker New Vitality, built in Japan for China Merchants Steam Navigation of Hong Kong.

The largest dry cargo vessel, the 182,675 dwt bulk carrier Buccleuch, also built in Japan, was delivered to Unique Shipping Agencies of Hong Kong.
