Tell us about your new exhibition, Tits, Boobs and Jugs:
Artist Irene Lau Kwai-ying:
'In 2004, the female students at the Art School put on an exhibition called Ah Nu Bra Bra. Winus [Lee Yee-mei] and I were part of the project. We wanted to work on a strictly female topic, and that's how we came up with the idea of using bras.
'Tits, Boobs and Jugs is a sequel. This time, Winus has created ceramic sculptures and art depicting breasts - some are firm and pert, while others are wrinkled and sagging. I made 16 pairs of ceramic cups that, when hung up, look like bras of different styles and fashions.
'I've always been interested in creating visual illusions with sculptures. I tried to make the tea cups look like bras by hanging them in pairs.
'But breasts and bras are tender and soft in texture, so the biggest challenge is to manipulate the ceramic and make it look supple. I decorated the white cups with flowers and other colourful patterns to give a feminine touch and make them resemble sexy undergarments. It was fun.'
