A few months ago, my physics teacher asked my group to make a dynamo for a bicycle so that when you pedal the wheels, some small bulbs light up. A dynamo is a small generator made from a magnet that is rotated in the middle of coils of wire.
At first, I didn't think it was possible. We gave it a try but the wire we used was not thin enough.
However, it is possible. I fixed the problems and my bicycle dynamo produced voltage. It gave me great satisfaction and let me know that even though things might seem impossible, one can find a solution.

Thanks for your letter, Sam. And congratulations on your invention! Problem-solving can be very satisfying. What you did involved technical skills as well as the ability to think creatively. Well done.
Once you learn to approach problems creatively, you will find there are very few things you cannot attempt. Over the last year, Young Post has run lots of stories of studies inventing things and even creating robots! I've been very impressed with the level of creativity.
If you have invented something, we want to know about it! Write to me at firstname.lastname@example.org .
