Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LS2: Panasonic has barged in on the entry-level digital camera market with the 5-megapixel LS2. It doesn't come with the company's signature Leica lens, but instead has a 3X optical lens by Lumix. The LS2, which isn't as sleek as Panasonic's other cameras, comes with the company's MEGA O.I.S Optical Image Stabiliser technology to reduce blurry photos. It uses two AA batteries instead of a lithium battery. (Price: $1,790)

Gigabyte G-Cam: The biggest selling point of the G-Cam mobile phone from Gigabyte is that it doubles as a 5-megapixel digital camera, complete with built-in flash. The downside is that it's much bigger than most mobile phones and digital cameras. The G-Cam is tri-band GSM, with a 5cm, 262,000-colour LCD screen and a mini-SD card slot for memory expansion. It also comes with a TV-out slot so you can plug it directly into a television set to display your photos. (Price: $3,680)

Sandisk Sansa e200 Series: Sandisk is better known for its memory cards and drives, so it's no surprise that the company has entered the MP3 player market. MP3 players are basically a memory with software for media playback. The e200 doesn't quite match up to the iPod nano, but it looks pretty good. It features a bright 4.5cm LCD screen, an FM radio, voice recorder, user-replaceable battery and video playback. The e200 Series comes in 2GB, 4GB and 6GB models. (Price: about $2,200)
