Omega has added more 007 features to its new limited-edition Seamaster, which blends good looks with precision movement
JAMES BOND is back with a new look, but he still sports an Omega Seamaster. The new Seamaster James Bond watch is a professional diver's model in stainless steel. Bond fans will instantly recognise the spiral motif embossed on the dial: the same design that is seen in the opening credits of the films.
To add to the Bond influence, the seconds hand has been crafted to include the numerals 007. This is one of the first Bond watches to be equipped with the technically advanced Co-Axial escapement.
This exclusive Seamaster has more Bond features than previous models and is being made in a limited series of 10,007 pieces.
The James Bond Limited Series is popular among collectors and adopts classic design features such as the distinctive case design, the curved horns and contrasting polished and brushed surfaces, as well as the blue 'Bond' bezel and dial.
In true Bond style, Omega has ensured that the latest Bond watch blends eye-catching looks with a high specification and precision movement. It meets the requirements of a professional diver's watch and each one is made to the rigorous standards that give it a COSC chronometer certificate.
It is water-resistant to a depth of 300 metres and is equipped with a helium escape valve at the 10 o'clock position. This allows any helium that collects inside the watch during a deep dive to escape during decompression, a vital feature when using a diving bell, as helium atoms can penetrate a watch case and could cause it to explode during decompression unless the gas can escape.
Other features that mark this as a professional diver's watch are the use of a screw-down crown and a screw-down case back. The rotating bezel features luminous dots and is unidirectional, a safety feature to be found on all serious divers' watches.
The hands of the Seamaster James Bond are highly visible and are coated with Superluminova, a luminous material. The seconds hand has a red tip so that it can be distinguished easily.
The 41mm diameter stainless steel cases houses a Calibre 2500 automatic movement which provides a 48-hour power reserve. The proprietary Omega Co-Axial technology offers improved long-term reliability and accuracy. Performance is further enhanced by the use of a free-sprung balance that allows the watch to be adjusted more precisely.
The case back features an embossed 007 gun logo and the series number of each watch in the limited edition. The series comes with a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet and has a safety clasp also engraved with the 007 logo.
