Trust company seeks a market-savvy manager

Job seekers with a background in finance or law and an understanding of

the China market could be perfect for this position.

Equity Trust is expanding its operations and has an opening in its Hong Kong office for a senior manager to develop professional and advisory services in China.

The firm provides wealth management services to corporations and high net worth individuals.

Candidates need at least eight years of experience with financial institutions, trust companies, law firms or accountancy firms.

Lilian Keung, the firm's manager for human resources and administration, said the ideal candidate should have good communication skills and in-depth understanding of China, including knowledge of the mainland's tax and social welfare systems.

An ability to establish and manage strategic client relationships is crucial.

The manager will mainly be responsible for sales and marketing of the firm's services in China and giving professional advice to clients. Having a network of contacts with bankers, lawyers and financial institutions would be an advantage.

Candidates should be outgoing, self-motivated and energetic, with a business-related degree or law degree focused on knowledge of China.

The manager will spend about half the time meeting clients and intermediaries in China or abroad.

Good performance could lead to a position as general manager or to a role in an overseas office.
