LITTLE STAR SEARCHES FOR IDOL

Hong Kong Repertory Theatre will stage Haunted, Haunted Little Star, a Cantonese stage play combining thriller, comedy and nostalgic drama.

The story revolves around Chen Dai-mei, who lands a job at the Hua Studio as a clapperboard operator in the hope that it will bring her closer to her idol, famous actress Feng Nuo.

In doing so Chen witnesses the politics of the studio and the glamour behind the spotlight.

The performance will be staged from Saturday to July 9 at the Hong Kong Arts Centre Shouson Theatre. Student tickets ranging from $50 to $100 ($100 to $200 for adults) are available from Urbtix on 2734 9009.

VIOLINIST LI TO PERFORM TCHAIKOVSKY

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra's 2006 Tchaikovsky Festival will open with a concert featuring violinist Li Chuanyun.

Li will perform some of the masterpieces by Tchaikovsky such as the Violin Concerto and Symphony No5.

Radio personalities Kathy Lam and Ben Pelletier will introduce the music and life of Tchaikovsky.

The concert will be staged at 8pm on Friday with Cantonese narration and on Saturday with English narration, at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall.

Student tickets cost $50, $75, $100 and $125 ($100, $150, $200 and $250 for adults) and can be purchased from Urbtix.
