Shining Stars

What's the link between Sarah Jessica Parker and Unicef? It's a little bracelet and US$100 worth of philanthropy from Cartier. The French jeweller has added the Love Charity bracelet - going for US$457 - to its long-standing Love collection with its trademark engraved screws. The Sex and the City star is just one of eight celebrities recruited by Cartier to promote eight charities, including Salma Hayek (Human Rights Watch), Ed Norton (Wilderness Conservation Trust) and Ashley Judd (YouthAIDS).

The new addition bears the Love mark in 18-carat rose gold and is held together by a silk cord of a different colour for each charity - blue for Unicef, green for the wilderness, pink for breast cancer and so on. For each bracelet sold Cartier is giving US$100 to the colour-coded cause.

The bracelets have been on sale in the US since June and will be available in Hong Kong in September. For more details, check out www.love.cartier.com.
