WINNERS PERFORM WITH TOP CHINESE DANCERS

More than 100 ballet students aged six to 22 from the Hong Kong Ballet Group will perform Giselle.

Most of the young performers won awards at the Hong Kong Young Ballet Stars Awards.

The ballet is the tale of a young village girl, Giselle, who falls in love with Albrecht, a nobleman disguised as a peasant.

When she uncovers his lie, and finds that he is promised to another, she is heartbroken and dies.

The performance will also star Zhu Yan and Yu Bo, the principal dancers of the National Ballet of China.

Giselle will be staged today and tomorrow at 8pm at City Hall.

Tickets cost HK$100, HK$75 and HK$50 for students, and HK$200, HK$150 and HK$100 for adults. Bookings from Urbtix on 2734 9009.

A MULTIMEDIA LOOK AT HONG KONG CULTURE

Experimental theatre group Zuni Icosahedron will stage Hong Kong Style, a multimedia music performance designed and directed by Mathias Woo.

The performance is based on Woo's book of the same title published last year. It deals with Hong Kong's urban culture and architectural style.

The performance combines stage installations, video projection and computer Flash techniques.

Hong Kong Style will be staged at 8pm today and tomorrow, with additional matinees at 3pm tomorrow and at 5pm on Sunday at City Hall.

Tickets cost HK$50 and HK$90 for students, and HK$100 and HK$180 for adults. Available from Urbtix.
