The promotion of Snakes on a Plane in Hong Kong is as funky as the film itself.

Perhaps inspired by the power of the internet in The Bus Uncle incident, a wave of promotion has been launched by the film distributor - rather unusually - through a blog.

One video showcases how different Hong Kong residents (some in eccentric accents) recite a line from the film. The blog writers even poked fun at the word 'snake' - which in colloquial Cantonese means 'slacking off'. And they have compiled a list of 'snake hubs' - mostly cha chaan teng in different parts of Hong Kong - where workers can take a break.

Earlier, the film distributor sent the media flight meals including plastic snakes alongside the crackers and orange juice.  A safety guide was included with instructions such as 'removable seat cushion can double as a snake deterrent device', and 'your snack tray may be used to trap and confuse snakes'.
