A ratings and research firm with a global workforce of more than 1,000 analysts is looking for a bright mind to join its expanding team in Asia.
A senior analyst is needed at Moody's to monitor the credit profile for a portfolio of Asian companies and to assign new ratings to prospective first-time bond issuers. Entering at the rank of vice-president, he or she will have duties that include performing qualitative and quantitative analysis on rated firms, writing credit research reports and maintaining relationships with corporate issuers, bankers and investors.
'The person will gain broad industry and geographical exposure working with the corporate team where there are about 20 people,' said Elizabeth Allen, a vice-president and senior analyst, adding that Moody's employed about 70 people in Hong Kong and 20 in Singapore.
The successful candidate will have access to senior managers of large corporations and gain first-hand information about their practices and performances. The firm is looking for someone with strong credit judgment and at least 10 years of experience in the credit area.
An independent mind and good interpersonal skills are needed to work closely with senior managers of corporate and financial intermediaries. It is also important to be thorough and have numerical skills to perform analytical work.
'There will be quite a bit of travelling as we cover all of Asia except Japan and Australia,' Ms Allen said.
