MONEY keeps winging its way to Operation Santa Claus, but with only two days before the end of the campaign every extra cent helps.
Burson-Marsteller this month polled the telephone habits and behaviour of the users of its client HK Telecom CSL's mobile phones.
It promised that for every completed questionnaire returned before Christmas, it would donate $300 to Operation Santa Claus, thus raising $10,800.
Throughout this month, shoppers at the Park Lane Shoppers Boulevard made donations by taking a picture with Santa.
There was a special Christmas display featuring a steam train, nicknamed the Through Train. The donations from the display and pictures add up to $106,569.
Operation Santa Claus is jointly organised by RTHK and the South China Morning Post, and it aims to raise $5 million.
Last night, the takings had reached $2,610,748.
