Big is beautiful

Stylists at Toni&Guy in Central say it's the season 'for all things voluptuous, with fuller-figured hair that is simple yet chic'.

The textured outlines of spring/summer are smoothed over to become shapely and blended. The essence of this belongs to no-frills cuts, perfectly formed stacked curls with a satin finish.

The return of classic cuts such as gentle graduations and round square layers will dominate the strict lines of this season's shape, according to the stylists. Big is beautiful, with the minimalist bob becoming a curvaceous, rounded silhouette that is smoothed to perfection. Less busy haircuts are worn without masses of texture, they add.

For those who like curls, 'flawless yet touchable' ringlets will make their presence felt this autumn/winter.

Experiment with clasps, they say, as well as grips, hair-bands and barrette clips for an added touch of glamour to accessorise a no-frills haircut.

'Use a round brush and blow out to its ultimate potential. Work this mass volume by pulling and clipping the hair back, away from the face - a la Jackie O.'

Pony-tails are polished without wayward strands or crooked parting. The finish is perfectly placed with a natural bounce.
