Capture festivities on camera

With strings of red firecrackers and golden plaques lining the streets, the Lunar New Year festival is a visual feast.

Take out your camera and capture the most colourful sights. You could win great prizes and have your photographs displayed in the Collective Memories of Lunar New Year Days - Student Photo Competition, organised by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.

There are no specific requirements as to where or how the pictures should be taken. The only criterion is that they must be taken during the festival next week.

The competition is divided into two sections - secondary and university.

Each student can hand in a maximum of five 20cm x 25cm (8R) photos.

They must also submit a short article (not more than 25 words) describing each photo. They need to include a title for each picture and the details, such as when and where the photo was taken.

All photographs should be sent to the museum (1 Man Lam Road, Sha Tin) before the end of next month.
