Island school student's story triumphs

Island School student Rahul Pillay has won the sixth annual secondary school short story competition co-organised by the Hong Kong Women in Publishing Society and Culture Hong Kong magazine. Rahul won a HK$1,000 Dymocks book voucher for his entry, Battlefields, a tale about two wars and had his story published in the society's annual anthology, Imprint 2007.

Lingnan signs agreement with Middlesex

Lingnan University's Community College and Lingnan Institute of Further Education have signed a memorandum of understanding with Middlesex University in Britain, which will give students at the community college an opportunity to articulate an overseas top-up degree without studying abroad.

St Paul's sets up Shanghai partnership

St Paul's College has established a partnership with the High School Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The first event under the partnership will be a cultural exchange visit to Shanghai next month.

Success comes on video

Videos by teams from St Paul's Secondary School and Diocesan Boys' School have beaten entries from more than 100 schools to win the National Geographic Channel Think Again documentary awards. St Paul's video Androgyny came top in the senior section, while DBS' Braising the Colony was named the best junior entry. The schools were challenged to produce five- to 10-minute documentaries on the theme of nature and wildlife, environment and conservation or people and culture. Maryknoll photo competition

Maryknoll Convent School is to launch a photo competition featuring its primary school building to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the building at Waterloo Road, Kowloon Tong. Interested parties may enter the school for photography shooting at specific dates if applications are made before March 28.
