In a League of their own

More than 500 Ivy League schools graduates and guests gathered at the Grand Hyatt Hotel ballroom for their 18th Annual Ivy Ball on June 23. Since this year is the 10th anniversary of the handover, gala organising committee chairman Gallant Nien Jar-ling toasted the continued prosperity of the city before everyone ate from a menu combining Chinese and English cuisines.

The highlight of the evening was a performance by 16-year-old Cheung Chor-tai, who is a master of the traditional Chinese face-changing art. Among the guests were Jin Jing, Peng Ting-ting, Vidya Venkataraman, Martin Tang Yue-nien, Chiu Yue-ling, Maya Colayco, Ember Goldstein, Jeff Zielinski and Mathew Cartwright.
