In the footsteps of great talent

New indie rock band The Enemy's debut album We'll Live and Die In These Towns is inspired by good old-fashioned British rock 'n' roll. Play it at full blast when your parents have gone out.

Band members Tom Clarke (lead vocals, guitar), Liam Watts (drums) and Andy Hopkins (bass guitar, backing vocals) have already made it big with this album, going straight to No. 1 in the UK charts when it was released last month and playing twice at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

Their music is reminiscent of 'the Big Four' - The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who and The Rolling Stones - and it looks like The Enemy plan to be just as successful.

All but one of the 11 tracks are solid rock numbers that will have you jumping around head banging. Each instrument is given equal importance on every track, resulting in some electrifying rock tunes.

40 days and 40 nights is the standout number. The twelve-bar blues structure is clearly defined in the intro by both lead and bass guitar and is sustained throughout by the bass.

Happy Birthday Jane is the only ballad, and is a mellow finish to the album.

This is an excellent collection of classic rock. The Enemy looks set to be the next British band to conquer the planet.
